About the Author: Ged Geoghegan

Ged has retired after over 40 years in the teaching profession and now spends much of his time telling stories to his grandchildren and playing tenor horn in a number of brass bands.
About the Book
Having searched the internet, without success, for a children’s brass band themed story book for my grandson’s birthday, I decided to write one.
The instruments in the brass band are arguing over who is the most important. This provides an opportunity for each instrument to explain its role and contribution to the band’s music.
The conductor calls the instruments to order and explains that each instrument is of equal importance, has a unique part to play and only when they listen to each other and work together will they make a great sound. A humorous tale demonstrating how teamwork and cooperation brings about the best results.
This children’s picture story book (32 pages, 600 words) is primarily aimed at children aged 3 – 8 years.
The book is beautifully illustrated throughout, with playful yet accurate characters representing each instrument.
